Assistant Housekeeping Manager - Chicago

Support the daily housekeeping operation at AIRE Ancient Baths Chicago — the locker areas, cleaning rounds and in-house laundry — leading the team hands-on and standing in for the Housekeeping Manager.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the team follows AIRE service standards, protocols and appearance guidelines, and oversee guest comfort in the locker areas so they stay clean, organised and stocked.
• Resolve guest concerns escalated by team members and support frontline operations during breaks, peaks and absences.
• Oversee internal laundry so linens and textiles meet AIRE quality standards, and monitor external laundry deliveries.
• Ensure cleaning is completed to protocol, monitor supplies and tools, and address or report cleaning-team performance.
• Act as the department's operational point of contact in the Manager's absence; supervise inventory, timecard approvals and payroll accuracy.
• Run daily briefings, support scheduling and coverage, and assist with recruitment, onboarding and training.

Requirements

• At least one year of team management or supervisory experience, preferably in housekeeping.
• At least two years' experience in housekeeping, cleaning or a related operational role.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning, sanitation and laundry operations.
• Hands-on leadership style with strong attention to detail, coaching and accountability.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Experience in hospitality, wellness or luxury service preferred.
