Nordic Spa Pool Operator

Operate and maintain the pools, saunas and steam rooms at Kananaskis Nordic Spa, keeping water chemistry, filtration and the bathing circuit safe for guests.

Responsibilities

• Conduct water samples to test and monitor pool chemistry and make the adjustments needed to hold quality standards.
• Monitor the pool filtration system and complete scheduled inspections through the shift.
• Operate the pools, saunas, steam rooms, pool deck and outdoor areas for safe guest use.
• Complete washing schedules as assigned or set out in daily checklists.
• Keep the pool deck safe and clean by organising furniture, clearing debris and picking up towels and robes.
• Clean and maintain outdoor walkways, pathways and green spaces.
• Complete the maintenance checklist, address minor issues before they escalate, and log anything beyond scope to a leader immediately.
• Champion safety protocols, manage maintenance incidents during the shift and escalate when necessary.

Requirements

• Previous spa or hotel maintenance experience preferred.
• Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) licence preferred.
• WHMIS and first aid including CPR preferred.
• Able to lift, move and handle pool chemicals responsibly.
• Good judgement around safety and guest experience.
• Able to work long shifts across a 365-day operation, including late hours, weekends and holidays, with a considerable part of the shift outdoors in all seasons.

• Work at an indoor-outdoor Nordic spa in the Alberta Rockies.
